Ride135 rigging

Did a couple things to the kayak over the last few days. With the help of dolphin Dave I now have an anchor trolley. Also decided to add a small cooler instead of some sort of crate. Found a walk thru online and was able to add some rod holders to the cooler. Was pretty simple with some stainless nuts and bolts and a little marine sealer. Also decided to go with a good anchor pole since my last one failed. Still have one mount to add behind my seat. Got a mighty mount but still a little unsure where I want to put it. I also made 2 rod leashes out of some paracord and some clips. Next project is going to be a live well if some sort but I want to have it sit in front of me so that is going to take some thinking. Any suggestions would be great.

Looks good!

Look’s like you’re ready to fish. I’m jealous of that seat and the gear trax. If you’re not sure where you want the mighty mount yet, best just to wait and think about it over your next few trips. What’s the livewell for? Bait or keeping fishing alive? Bait can be kept in a floating bait bucket and fish on a stringer. I wouldn’t want anything more than necessary in the cockpit especially on a Yak that you can stand in.

Oh, I’d also suggest another upright tube on that box for a bright flag. Don’t want the fast movers running you down.

Need something to hold and keep bait alive. Might have to look into the floating bait bucket. Never used one before, they work well?

Flowtroll, tie it up to your boat, put it in the water while you fish, and it’ll keep your bait alive while you fish.

Floating bait bucket will work fine. Depending on the bait and time of year, you may not need to drag it behind you all the time. I keep a 3 gallon bucket behind my crate with cast net in the bottom. For mud minnows I can often swing the minnow bucket full of water into bucket in the rear well while I paddle between fishing spots (as long as they’re not too far), and drop it in the water when I set up to fish. It will also dry store fine in your forward hatch.

The only thing that kills mud minnows is sunscreen on your hands.

Boat drinks, Waitress I need 2 more boat drinks!

Picked up a flow troll from haddrells for $10. Going to go out Sat if anyone cares to join me or if someone is already going doesn’t mind if I tag along.
