Rigging Question - Disconnecting Yamaha Connector

I’m trying to dress up my little 18’ proline by cleaning up the transom area with a rigging hose. I’m having one little problem, getting an electrical connection apart on the 2006 F115TLR yamaha that I have. I pull, but it won’t come easily. Should it? Is there something special that I need/could do? Any experience?
Also, the F115 doesn’t have a motor side rigging grommet to be used with the hose that is called out anywhere, and in some places, it says something like “F115 and HPDI outboards already come standard with a new style engine grommet to be used instead of this one.” This sounds like I won’t need a different grommet for the motor end, but could that be true? Here’s a couple of pics:

My mess, the cable highlighted is a bit tight. You can see a outer insulation repair from where it rubbed on the previous steering cylinder. I replaced that with the sea star you see. Relocating the cable to the other boot location will free up a lot of slack that I don’t currently have available elsewhere and get it all up and away from the steering hoses now. Note the grommet, will it work with the yamaha rigging hose?

My trouble spot:

just pull
wiggle and pull
twist and pull
stand on 1 foot pull east to west

That’s what I thought.
