rigging question

Taking a little time during our lovely weather spell to re rig a few of my lures. I know there are other transition methods but this is the one I use. My question is would it be better to cover the transition with a small squid or would it accentuate it. I typically use a short sleeve crimp but since I am going to cover it I used a double crimp.

Might want to upgrade swivel to spro ball bearing.

big dog

IMHO, unless you are tuna fishing, the snap swivel is not a deterrent to bites. A small squid over the swivel is a good way to get cut off by a wahoo right at the leader transition. Just my $.02.

If that swivel is a 130 spro you are fine. I would look at mabye switching to matte black crimp instead of the aluminum. You want to draw as little attention to that transition as possible.

Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.

It is 130. The transition I am showing is only about 12" in front of the main lure. I only thought to cover it because of the proximity
