Missed 3 big sharks and one popped 50 lb. braid. She even let me catch one…i was actually trying to catch shark bait but it counts! 31.14 lbs. biggest of the day!!!

Sometimes that shark,he looks right into you,right into your eyes.

When those sharks see my youngen staring back at them saying…she’s coming for you, your momma, your daddy, your uncle, and your grand daddy and then we release them and says come on back devil if you ever want to try again, she done told you once you son of a fish that she’s the best there is

I`m fairly certain that is a bull shark. I blew up the pictures and used my Sharks of the Carolina book to compare it. As far as eating, not a fan of bonnet head sharks. Blacktip sharks are excellent.

Nope, that doesn’t count! LOL Had an acquaintance about 20 years ago brought in a mako. That thing trashed his boat and put 40 stitches in his leg. Had to med evac him to the hospital. Try to hold one still and they are amazingly strong.
The 4 and a half foor shark is a black tip the one in my profile picture is definitely a bull shark

Are you saying the one in the picture is a blacktip ? Not here to argue but I`ve caught hundreds of blacktip sharks and that does not look like one to me. Looks like a bull shark with those black tipped fins underneath. A sandbar does not have them and could not see if it had a interdorsal ridge or not.The nose also appears to be more rounded than a blacktip.

Juvenile Bull Shark…That’s her momma’s DNA coming out! He was thicker than the black tips we catch there for sure. The blacktips we catch out there the top tail is more of a 45° angle as well and definitely not a brownish tint.

Great report in my opinion. I targeted sharks for many years and had a great time with it. Splitail ? Yikes ! Used to mean a woman`s who ha . Changed now ?
Dirty minds on here…I concocted it pertaining to fish tails and whitetails which is why “splittail” came about. Fishing basics and hunting basics tied into one. Other sites will receive other names due to my creativity…you should have seen the name i gave myself back in high school which was stickered on my truck!!! Seriously , not a dirty mind. Including step children I have six kids, the youngest being 16. But honestly, in the 80s and at least until the early 2000s, when you went out as a single male , you were hunting split tails. In Charleston at least that is what it was called. Definitively not trying to be crude but that is what it was called. Sorry if I offended but that was a well known term. Thought you should know.
