Left the dock at 3:15. Jetties were really rough. Seas weren’t much better. Plowed through the pitch black slop at 25knts if we were lucky. On the pit stop on the way out the wind had to be topping 20 as it whined through thr out riggers.
Set up shop in big seas on the ledge at dawn. Managed 4 BFT by 10 them decided to work the trough heafing offshore. Little intrest until we found the fish at 1pm. All the lines went down at once when we passed some large floating object. Still don’t know what it was bc we were trying to grab rods but I did see some small tuna looking fish around it as well. Next thing we know there are 100+ gaffers under the boat. We busted out the spinning gear and a bonito from the box and put 35 (mostly gaffers) in the box in an hour. Sea did lay down. Mote pics to come.
