Had a good day bottom fishing, started out padding the box w/ 50 BSB and Bliners. Pushed out to try to find a grouper. Caught more BSBs,Bliners, triggers, and pinkies. Picked up a cobia on the bottom as well. Couldn’t catch a grouper so we sent down the retrievers. They shot 2 scamps.
Came back in a little to a ledge. retrievers went back down.
We had 2 live baits on the bottom, but the the 2 diving swam right under the boat. Bubbles were actually coming up and hiiting the boat when one of the rods doubled. I figured we had snagged a diver but it turned out to be a keeper ARS, go figure. This time they brought up 3 hogfish, a red grouper and a 10# bug, pretty good dogs. Big hogfish was 26# at GLM. Body count was 87 all total.

I’d be interested to know how deep you were when you shot the hoggs? not looking for number just startin out on my own and need good Ideas…

I think the minimum limit on Cobia is 33" fork length. That one looks close.?

The cobia may have been close but it sure did taste good! It was legal though.

We were 90 ft when we got the hogs and the endangered red snapper were everywhere.
