RightRx Friday 4/23

Fished the ledge out of Gtown Friday. Ride out was nice. We set the way back out (intended for a tuna) at 630 and it gets rocked before we can get another line out. Screams off 50yds of line and then gets cut. Get the spread out and catch 2 BFT and a small dolphin by 8:30 or so.
Until noon it is nothing but AJ action on the planer, must have caught 8 or more. Around noon the wind starts picking up and we get a double on BFT. We are clearing the lines, and while we are reeling the planer bait in a nice wahoo comes out of nowhere and nails the bait 20 ft behind the boat. The drag is still tight from dragging the planer and we back it down just in time. When we got him in the boat the hook has almost straighten out! Get 1 BFT in and then other which has been nailed by jaws.Set the spread back out and both flats start screaming immediately one pulls free and the other puts a bigger hoo in the box. Put them back out another double-1 BFt 1-Bonita. Then as quick as the bite started it died.

Headed on in around 2:30 due to building seas. Ride in was fast but wet.

Sounds like ya’ll had a good day. Must be nice to be on the way in at 2:30. You know Jim and I don’t know how to be in before dark!

I started to call Shannon and tell her we were on the way home with the fish cleaned at 6:30 but I figured that would cause trouble…

If she is like my wife, she has learned not to expect me till way after dark.

thanks for the report, we “try” to make it back to the chs jetties by 5pm most of the time
