the yamaha additive ring free- was it needed in 4 stroke, 115 engines that only use pure gas? (not using ethanol)?
ring free is an additive that reduces carbon build up.
type of fuel doesn’t matter
2 or 4 stroke doesn’t matter
use ring free with stabilizer and you will less problems on average.

I use it religiously but I also use ethenol gas due to the inconvenience of finding non-ethenol regularly. I was told by the marine dealer who sold me the boat that it treated ethenol gas so that you didn’t have problems with water separation.
I use ethanol free gas, Yamalube ring free, and fuel stabilizer every time I fill up.
Same here Moral Kiosk. I have a station near my house with ethanol free gas so swing in on the way home every time and top the tank off, record my fuel consumption and I’m ready to go for next time.
I’ve seen some post on here that switching from ethanol gas to ethanol free gas caused them problems. It’s been a long time and I don’t remember the specifics.
Are there any issues with switching? What’s the best way to switch? Run the tank real low or just start using ethanol free?
MK, What stabilizer do you use?
I have mixed fuels, you just get a dilluted amount of ethanol. Should not be a problem at all. My friend buys non-E gas when possible and runs 10% E in between. He is constantly mixing with no problems.
I think people who have problems are those who allow fuel to sit months on end or have pre-existing problems like water and gunk in the tanks or lack of maintenance, old out of date fuel lines, etc.
If the boats maintained correctly, the fuel system is rated for ethanol, and is used on a regular basis you should be fine.
in years past, the additive (I forget the initials MPDE or something like that) that ethanol replaced, reacted badly with ethanol and caused major issues.
that additive is no longer used, so that issue isn’t a problem.

Thanks for the answers. I had figured what Friogatto said.
Good history lesson Chris V.
I guess I should start adding stabilizer too.
Any suggestions?

Walmart used to be my goto place for SeaFoam, but they don’t carry it any more. I use to find it at Wally world for about $3 cheaper than any where else.

You can still get it online through wallmart and I believe Amazon has it a little cheaper.
I am suprised Wal Mart in Chas area does not carry it. I live in Florence and they still have it and yes it is about 2.50/3.00 cheaper than most other places.
