Pulled up to the pond yesterday morning… The frogs are mating like crazy! Topwater poppers and frog patterns were on point. I was throwing this monster bass fly scotty hooked me up with at the fly shop. This thing is like a pool noodle with a hook on it. After the top water slowed I switched to my favorite bass fly a black “meat missile”. The bite didnt turn off till the bass had stuff themselves of real frogs. My little bass hole is keeping the addiction at bay while this windy weather moves along.
Sounds good … he get you a wiggler pattern … the pool noodle ??

that thing you get just moments after you needed it.
Were you throwing a weedless one over algae mats/lillies? Or were you just working it aroundbank structure?
The ponds I fish were seriously algaed up and I was ready for frog fishin, then we had that nice weekend storm 2-3 weeks ago it somehow killed all that algae over night!

Well both. I like to walk around the pond working the shore line and algae/lilly pads first. Then once the bite slows, I put on some kind of streamer to work the little points, fallen branches, etc. The beauty of a pond is that you can dissect how to fish it pretty quickly (or at least you think you do ha!) But yes the pond was kinda dirty with a algae bloom.
