Ripple Effect Sunday 7/21 "Brown went down"

Team Ripple Effect had Sunday planned for doing a little king fishing mixed in with bottom fishing… well, with 15-20 knot winds king fishing was not to easy since the baits were getting blown all over the place. So we moved on to what we do best, catch bottom dwellers. We had myself,Swilly, Highspeed, Grassman, and Tipandring on for the ride.

We ended the day with 3 cobia the biggest 42lbs on the scale, although it looked much bigger. Would have had 4 cobia, but a gaff mishap lowered our final tally. The grouper bite was SLOOOWWW, but we ended up with 3 NICE scamp the biggest was 21 lbs on the scale, the smaller scamps were over 12lbs. Swilly was hollering for the gaff once that big ole pig broke the surface. We ended up losing a few nice fish close to the boat after reeling them 95% of the way up only for them to pull the hooks… that’s fishing.

Highspeed was the hothand with the triggerfish… we ended up with a nice mess of triggers.

The kicker of the day was the 14 ARS we released today… Yes, we caught/released and caught/released and caught/released genuine red snapper ALL DAY LONG.

Great day on the water with some fantastic fisherman… I am ready to go again.

Great day!

Now if you only took some pictures…

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Swilly!

Nice fishing- always a bummer how much bigger the cobia seems til you put him on the scale

Endangered species! 14 Snappers. The grouper bite was very strange on Thursday as well. Nice work on the cobias

Ha! I find it odd that I have never seen 14 bald eagles in one day, but I've had days where I have seen 100's of endangered red snappers. Maybe we are all just very very very lucky...
