hey guys any thoughts on this problem would be helpful. Took my boat out to the harbor yesterday so i didn’t use my trolling motor at all. I got home did the usual scrub a dub on the boat and flushed my motor. I go in for a drink and come out to here something running. Its my riptide, the shaft is just turning and will not stop. I grabbed my remote(it’s a copilot) which is hard wired. The remote isn’t working. I assumed it got pushed and stuck and the battery died in the turning position. Replaced the batt still not doing anything. The only way to turn it off is pull the negative off of the battery. Any thoughts on what might be happening.

Charleston Marine is a Minn Kota repair facility, and they do good work! You should call them and see if they have simple suggestions. Chris has helped me out on a number of occasions when I didn’t want my boat sitting in the lot for a few days for something simple.

I had the same thing happen a while back. Do you have the remote foot control? I keep mine in my cooler seat and something had fallen on it, which caused the trolling motor to run and turn. Thought it was possessed! Hopefully yours is something simple like that.

All Smart Electronics have computers in them, I always unplug my stuff or if the remote is the issue take the battery out and put it back in. Thats always step one.
Clear Skies
unplug the copilot and then hook the main battery back up
if it doesnt exorcist on you, then plug the copilot back in and see what happens
We have a new trolling motor technician. all our trolling motor parts are in the computer system, and we are building our parts inventory daily.
if we have the parts in stock, the turn around time is 2 days or less
if we have to order the parts, tuen around is about 8 days
