Risky Business 8/20 (Pics added)

Fished on the Risky Business thanks to a late night invite from a friend. After 2 days fishing in the Miracles tourny I debated on not going but decided to since we were going to be on the big rig. Left out around 6:20 after taking over an hour at Charleston Harbor to get fuel. 3.5 Gallons a min is SLOOOOWWWWW when you taking on 400 gallons. Beautiful day on the water. Flat ocean, no wind, crystal blue water and bait everywhere. First bite was a double header dolphin. Two 12lb dolphin in the box by 9:30. Next was a small wahoo that hit a lure that was bigger than he was. wahoo was 15-18lbs in the box by 10:30. Then the day got interesting. One of the lady anglers hooked a billfish on the right flat and it was spooling her so I ran up to the bridge to reel in the wtfb so we could back down on the fish. As I reel in the line I hook another billfish. Double header white marlin. Three mins later I have a clean release on my first white marlin. Took us a good while to release the other white marlin as it was being fought on a tld 25 but we managed to release them both. An hour later we hookup and release a sailfish. Nailed the short flat as well. Saw YFT’s and skip jacks jumping all day but couldn’t get on them. What a dream day. It was like we were fishing in Costa Rica. Thanks to everyone for a great day. Could not have asked for anything more.

Dang…congrats on a good day George.

Thanks Becca. After our Miracles experience Friday it was so worth it. How did you guys do in the tourny?? Probably had a few cans to recycle when you got back each day huh?

Friday I took in enough saltwater to kill a small child…I don’t think I was dry for even 5 mins all day. Caught a small king, a bonita, and, of course, a cuda. I said to heck with it Saturday and went to the pool.

Thats one flat ocean.

If a man wakes up early to go fishing he 's sleep deprived, If a man wakes up late to go fishing he’s fish deprived

great pics!

Nice day on the pond. Robert told me that ya’ll got on them w/o him. Guess that you picked the right day after all!

Becca, I was soaked from the time we left the jettys all the way to liars hole and back to the ditch. Not much fun at all. Not one bite all day Friday. Carla Dee, I didn’t really pick the day. Kinda last minute. Still have to settle up with Brian. Never got the trip. Fin, we caught a 19lb king saturday and that was the biggest. How about you guys? PM me the fish story…

By the way the camera is a Cannon Rebel EOS Digital. Takes incredible pics as you can see. Bought a zoom lense to help get the billfish when they jump. Well worth the $1200

Take a Fish boating!

Kinda of funny you say that because earlier this year we caught a sailfish probably late May or early June and it was the first billfish for a good friend of mine who had been fishing for many many years. Had even gone to Costa Rica and didn’t catch any there so we took the fish out of the water. Four guys held it so it didn’t flop around and hurt itself, took pictures, put it back in the water and revived it and let it go. Nobody said one word about us taking it out of the water. Thank goodness. The one we got to the boat we fought for a 30 to 45 mins so as you can see she was pretty brown. We would never take a fish like that out of the water. The other two were leadered but we got the hook out before we could bill them. They were both pretty green. Thanks

Ha!

How do you like that Luhrs 36 open? What engines?

Is it new, or the former RiffRaff?

I’ll post my pix holding my 80#+ Zihuatnejo Sailfish soon … and get some ■■■■■!

I love the boat. It is an incredible boat to fish on for the money. It is former riffraff but the previous owner just repowered it with 440hp yanmars when I bought it so I got warranties and all. Boat cruises at 27 knots and burns 150 gallons a trip. I can’t wait to see the pic. It will surely cause a problem again.
