Riverine Striper

I made a new blog post on our site about riverine striper with some observations on them that I have made over the years. In 2017, both Youth and Adult SSWA striper club records have been broken and I think that is a positive thing. I hope it indicates that stocks are recovering!

I have recently overhauled our site, and I’d appreciate any ■■■■■■■■ you have on it if you’re willing to browse around. I’m not quite finished however. Thx and we appreciate very much all your support of our products - Dave

Even without a spell checker…you do carry a lot of wisdom.

Nice catch optiker. Good luck with patterning strippers. I have caught them in most rivers over the years by accident. We were night fishing one night and had a coot come out of the water flapping and sqawking only to get swallowed whole by a stripper of an enormous size. We were dumb found and shocked looked at each and said we need different bait. Ducks!

Well done Dave and nice read.

Nice read and catch. Targeting Stripers on the cooper has been hit or miss for me. However one creek has produced a higher numbers over the years. The first striper pictured was caught at the mouth of an intersecting creek on original trout tricks. The second was caught on original trout tricks near a submerged oak. The interesting part was that he was caught right after (next cast) of cat fish.

I have only had one experience with schooling stripers and it was dusk ( within sight of the boat landing) right as the tides were changing and the current was ripping. Good advice on having a top water bait ready.

Nice fish, thanks for the pictures!

Nothing like catching schooling stripers on top water. They love to munch on clear Zara SPook JR’s.
