I and a few others will be travelling about 8 hours to Cape San Blas, FL (South of Tallahassee) to rendesvous with the Georgie Kayak Fishing Club and a group from Mobile Bay area of Alabama…
The campground is on a sand spit between the Gulf and St. Joe Bay. Redfish, Seatout, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Ladyfish and Bluefish can be caught in the back bay. Off the coast, Grouper, Snapper, King Mackerel and even Cobia can be had!.
Plans are to leave around 6 A.M. Thursday morning (23rd) in as few vehicles as possible, and arrive there around 2 P.M. Leaving us several hours to set up camp, fish and meet the other anglers. The total cost will only be gasoline (Split between number of passengers of vehicles), food costs, Florida Salt Water fishing license and Campsite fees divided among campers…)
I will get the campsite cost information and update later this week.
One of my favorite places. My boys and I have had great times there. Younger son caught a 4.5# pompano there. Seems like the “average” trout is over 20". Do pay attention to the wind as St. Josephs Bay has quire a fetch when wind is blowing offshore. I have been in three foot seas from glass in a matter of minutes. Have fun and post a report for us.
Plans to be at edisto that weekend, otherwise might make it. Gonna be at Hunting the 2 previous weekends if you or James want to join me for some fishing.
You know I will come out to Hunting to fish… You sure you don’t want to pass up Edisto… I am paying for the Campsite for the whole weekend, and will divide by the number of people who camp… If six people, only $11.00 each… We have access to a trailer for kayaks and gear, so canget several in a vehicel to save on Gas…
Twisting arm Come on Cut, you know you want to…
Same for you Mudroc and Murray… Murray, I will pay for a 3 day license for you ($17.00)… Consider it interest on the delayed payment for the work on my deck!
