I’m in the market for 20-22 ft. center console. I’ve looked at many boat manufacturers (Sea Hunt, Sea Pro, Sportsman, Pioneer, Tidewater, and Robalo). I think I have narrowed my search down to either the Sea Pro Deep V 219 or the Robalo R222.
Does anyone have any information/experience with either of these boats they would like to share before I pull the trigger?
Sorry I left them off. I also looked at the Key West, Scout, and Grady. The biggest factor in my decision has centered around how much room is at the transom. Pioneer Sportfish 222 and Sportsman 212 Open both offer good access and room in the transom but are overpriced in my opinion. The Robalo R222 and the Sea Pro 219 have fold-up transom benches that get out of the way but still provide the extra seating should the family want to take a ride. None of the other models provided that option.
Well it appears that I wasn’t as thorough with my research as I should have been. It appears the Tidewater 220 CC Adventure also has the flip up transom seat. I may need to do a little more digging on the Tidewater.
Robalo builds a nice boat.
from my experience with them, I would say other than Grady, they are built as well if not better than everything else on your list.
i have a BX22Pro SeaHunt. It gives as smooth a ride as any in my opinion. plenty of room on the bow. not quite as much at the stern. I have a 150 yammy 4/strk and can plane it out at over 45 no problem. the boat weighs 2250lbs and hold 53 gallons of fuel. mine is a 2011 and looks like new. only has 270hrs on motor. I had a seapro 1900cc for 15 years and it performed great with the 115 yammy onit but this one is a real keeper. good luck with whatever you choose
