Anyone know of place locally to get flush mount rod holder bases. Found them online but dont want to pay 15$ in shipping. Looking for SS. Aluminum tends to seize up on SS rod holders.
Also i have a 20gal G&M for sale (brand new) if anyone is interested.

Chip can you reach the bottom side of the gunnel! If you can mount SS wing nut on the rodholder and screw it tight then drill hole in gunnel and put a SS fender washer and nut on the back side. When you take it off it only leaves a small hole in the gunnel. I have several holes in mine and can move rodholders to suite my fishing method>.
I did this for the 1st yr or so i had the boat. Only problem is on the starboard side i have all my wires/cable running under the gunnel. It just takes too long trying to get the nuts on and off while weeding through the wires. The port side is easier but still not as easy as a flush mount base…ha

My favorite base is the stainless washer with the nut welded to it. I bet happy bob could make some up.

Tom thats what i have now. I have had 2 that the welds have broke. Luckily both times both broke while a fish wasnt doubling the rod over…ha… they both actually broke off while riding down the road. And talk about luck both fell inside the boat once they broke off.
Think i have got it figured out. Buddy called and said he had a machine guy that could make them one piece.
