Rod holder for my Ride

Just got an older WS Ride and I want to mount a Scotty rod holder in the front. Because the console area is so far forward I’m thinking about getting an adjustable rod holder extension. I would like to spend my money locally, but don’t know who carries these types of accessories. I know I can get what I’m looking for on Amazon.com, but was hoping you guys could point me to a local retailer. Thanks.

Hey Too Busy, thanks for the advice. Have you (or anyone else) ever had one of the older style WS Ride and if so do you have any advice on rigging? I put flush mount rod holders behind the seating area, removed the factory seat and put in a Skwoosh seat. Planning on installing an anchor trolley this weekend. The only thing I don’t like about the boat is the goofy shaped storage area in the rear. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had one a couple of years ago. Keep the rigging pretty simple, flush mounts behind you and a Scotty or Ram base up front, and an anchor trolley and go fishing.

With the Scotty base up front you can go with a single rod holder or add a triple. Extensions make reaching rods a breeze for us ahhhh, “flexibility challenged” folks.

The original Ride has some hull slap that you’ll notice when you’re paddling into some chop and you want to get into an area quietly. They’re still really good boats to paddle, excellent stability, and dang cheap when you can actually find one.
