Rod holders???

Does any one have an idea on how to add rod holders to a sit-in? I would like to have two right behind me so thet I can troll while paddling and or rod storage purposes.

Thanks for the help.

Flush mount, that you can get at any boat supply would work. Drill a large hole (Roughly 2"), stick them in and screw into place. Set them up, pointing out at roughly a 30` angle, and you can use them to troll.

Works the same for a SOT too.

Those who can’t fish, spend too much!

Hello Big Dog, check out the website www.kayakfishinggear.com. On the home page look at the far right of the menu bar and they have posted a section on “How to”. Go into that menu and you should be able to pull up step by step procedures with photos. Hope this will put you more at ease on putting holes into your kayak. I’ll be mounting two RAM tubes behind my seat next week.:8ball: v/r tf

I use a six pack size igloo cooler and took the handle that goes across the top off. Then I drilled and bolted 2 pieces of 1.5" pvc about 3" longer than the cooler is tall to each side of the cooler on a 25 degree angle towards the rear. The cooler sits down in the kayak behind my seat perfectly with the tops of the tubes sticking above the top of the kayak. Cold beverages and rod storage.

the ram tubes are also nice but kind of a pain to adjust when mounted behind you. I mounted mine in the front.

I bought one of these. http://www.bearsden.com/.It works OK as long as your surface is dry. My yak is a home built with a slick varnish finish. I don’t know if it will work on a plastic yak. You could always glue it on instead of drilling holes if the suction fails,
