I picked up a Penn 340 GTI at Boater’s World for half off. I put it on a Penn Slammer rod that I had lying around, but the rod has some line guide damage.
Any suggestions for a moderate priced rod for this reel?

West Marine has some really nice carbon fiber looking rods with their name on it.
They’re about $60 each, and it would be a nice match for that reel.
They’re actually made by star rods for west marine.
That 50# hoo that we caught this weekend was brought in on it with no problems.
It has the removable caps so you can use it as a standup rod or use the gimble.

If you only have a couple guides that are broken, have them repaired. Haddrells does good work.
