Can’t go wrong with a Shimano symetre or stratic on an Ugly stick. There are plenty more expensive but these hold up best for me.
Honestly a shimano symetre 3000 on a shimano teremar is the greatest around 200$. Bit I also have a shimano clarus and like it a lot. Ugly sticks don’t give me the desired sensitivity. Especially for trout and flounder.

x2 on Raddaddy’s post. I bought 6 Calico Jack’s at Dick’s for charters, and find myself using them too. Nice rods. Dick’s is where I found mine. (55 bucks) I think day in and day out, for salt, Shimano is hard to beat for reels.

Personlly, I am in favor of the Penn Sargus 4000 for inshore. About $125 and really hard to destroy or beat up. It’s a combo and I love. It holds up its value
Just make sure you spend the majority of your money on the reel! One of my favorite rods is a $30 shimano rod, and I own 2 gloomis (Not super impressed with) & 2 star rods. Think its hard to beat a stradic for inshore, symetre is not bad for the buck either!
