Rod repair---who is the best

i have an inshore allstar and a shakespeare custom rod that i need the two eyes replaced.

i have had repair work done by two shops in the charleston area. one did a good job but is now out of business the other did a terrible job (eye doesn’t match) but is still going…go figure

With so many different manufacturers and types of ring materials, it is difficult for rod repair shops to carry every conceivable guide. As long as they are matching up the ring size, material, height, and general quality then it is not an issue especially with the rods that you have. If you have a high dollar rod with recoil, SiC, Zirconium Nitride, etc, then they may have to order that specific guide which adds time and cost.
