I was gifted a 7’ Penn Slammer rod with a 8000 penn Silverado reel. the rod tip is missing the nylon liner. This is the largest rod i have and don’t know if ill ever use it.
Worth it to replace the tip?

Yes, drop it off at hadrells, they can replace the whole tip for a few. You can also buy the rod tip repair kit at wally world and do it yourself

I guess a better question is when would I use a rod like this, I normally fish a 2500 or 3000 battle and have a scout 177 so venturing past fort Sumter is something I’ve only done once.
