Rod Selection

Hey everyone! My family all chipped in and bought me birthday gifts and one of them was a new St Croix Legend Xtreme Inshore series rod. It is the medium action and here is my question. I typically throw artis for trout and reds almost all year. Should I return the medium action for a medium-light or just keep the medium? I also throw topwater as well. But I do have quite a few other rods I can use for topwwater or artis as well. Just trying to see if anyone has experience with these rods and also what action they chose. Thank you!

Medium weight, fast action tip fine for both sensitivity but some muscle on the Reds
If you’re lookin fir 1 rod for both species.

Thanks Stick, I am going back and forth for that exact reason, want something with some backbone for the reds. But most my buddies have suggested MLF instead of MF

Stump, I appreciate that. Been fishing since I was 3 haha. My concern was the ML rod is so light was just wondering if I should exchange for a M. Talked to a rep for St Croix and he stated the MLF is designed for fish up to 50lbs to include reds
