Jimmy Buffett can have Margaritaville, I’m going to Redfishville!

weekend looks goooood!!! I’ll keep an eye for ya.

The water temp seems to be around 58F. What is the magic temp where the trout will start to wake up?

As far as I know the trout never went to sleep…

Good luck to ya DD… I am stuck on the alert teams again… I’ll be relagated to Bushy for March. I am getting a week break to head up to NC/VA to see my Dad and Bro and to pick up the Tarpon 160os my brother nabbed for me. We’ll have to meet up and break it in right there in April…

I handed off some pix and stuf for you, Sandford and ScottyD to Timbuck 2 today… Sorry it took so long to get it to ya bro…

Today’s Report:
It was beautiful out there! Hit the water at about 6:45 nad paddled right out to honey hole 1 Alpha. Found the school immediately, then they spooked out for a bit. Anchored up and the fish settled down. I managed three in a row on mullet, and missed two on the spoon. Florida Joe got a nice fish about 27 inches which was promptly released. Mine were 29,29, and 30.5, with the biggest weighing 13 pounds.

Check out the dolphin scars on this one: (I think he might be scarred both physically and emotionally now by Dolphins:smiley: )

Joe’s Red: (He now knows not to hold the fish by it’s gills)

paddling out:

Samething tomorrow, just a bit earlier hopefully. Trying to be at the landing by 6-630.

itll just be me tomorrow

strip…strip…FISH ON!

well nobody showed up this morning…

strip…strip…FISH ON!

I ended up going out on Sunday, but I stayed in the creeks off of the stono because the wind on Saturday was just too much. The fish were sparse and spooky on Saturday in Redfishville. I did get a chance to practice kayak sailing though. Holding my paddles to catch the wind and using my rudder to steer, I could navigate anywhere downwind.
It looks like the reds might be moving back into the creeks because I saw many more under docks on Sunday than on the whole day on the flats. The water temp in the creeks was a few degrees higher for some reason though.

if you have a long way to paddle, try using a kite, lust a cheap walmart simple kite. I used to let a kite pull me in my 17 Folbot across Chadwick Bay(3 1/5 miles) when I was younger. Its not that fast, but providing you have something to drink, it can be very relaxing. when done, fold the kite and stow it in the bag it came in.

My face is still red from the wind burn, that wind was miserable.
TBjr. was not enjoying himself
