How do you get fat reds rolling in a corner of a creek to bite?
I have tried all kinds of bait and plugs.
They just wont take it.
Any suggestions?
are you sure they are reds and not gar? They can be very easily mistaken.

Good question. Would you see gar near low tide 11am yesterday.
Gar. Depends where you are, certain areas will hold a ton of gar, generally areas with less salinity.

Ya. Gar roll a lot and will drive you crazy thinking they are something more desirable.
They even have coloring like a red. I’ve seen them roll at all times of day/tide conditions

Yes it was gar in hobcaw. do they mess up fishing for reds or other good fish? Seemed kind of slow at regular spots today.
Not only gar, but often times you can mistake large mullet for reds in shallow water as well. Mullet will push a good wake at times too. The more and more time you spend watching fish that you’ve been able to identify, the easier you’ll be able to recognize them and tell what fish are what when you can only see smalls signs of them.

I have heard that where there are many gar there are often trout. From what I have seen I would agree with that.

Sometimes they just don’t bite, regardless of what you put in front of them. Live bait is always better.
