Get your dad to sell his fountain & buy you one.

21 Contender

Nice really nice....You cant hide Class.

Lets cross some Eyes.

Strickland Marine Insurance owns the Fountain, and we split the business 55/45, so he’d have to sell his 55%, and he wouldn’t buy me a Spencer. We might buy one together under the agency, if we had the money, but we don’t. But thanks for trying to add to the Lee bashing with a smart-aleck comment, Ted. Go grow some balls now and act like a man.

Wow, Pen. I didn’t mean to strike a cord with my comment about the novices/rookies. I have nothing against rookies. I take them all the time. Love making friends. Took you green as a goard and enjoyed having you on board. Just sayin’ that people with little offshore experience don’t really have as much of a perspective of what rough, Rough, and ROUGH are, as compared to someone who’s been out in seas over 12 feet and been running to the Gulfstream for over 20 years. One guy thinks 3-4 is rough as crap. Another will go out in 5-7 (like I used to). Thursday hurt my butt cheeks on the way in, regardless, but it was nothing compared to some things I’ve been in–seriously, nothing. But, like you said, if it hurts it hurts. And I hear you loud and clear on the getting older thing. I feel the same way about my own body.

BTW, Penny, who called you on the phone and said you were “ignorant”? I certainly haven’t called or spoken to you about this and do not know who did. Can you explain that one? Because I sure don’t want you to have people thinking I called you about this.

I wouldn’t tell you you were ignorant anyway. You do have very little offhsore experience and perspective on what the ocean can be like on a 60-mile offshore trip–no offense intended, Penny–but you definitely aren’t ignorant, and there is some truth in what you said above. Going to the nearshore reefs on 1-to-2-foot-sea days is not exactly the same thing, but you are a salty fisherwoman by way of it; that’s fo sho.

You sound a little defensive or aggressive about this or something. Not sure why, but please forgive me if I have said anything wrong in this thread and accept my apologies. Maybe I’m reading you wrong. If so, please disregard. It was just a fishing report from a buddy on my boat, and as usual, since my name was in the thread, people turned i

I know Im not the seasonned vetern you are and have never pretended to be..but I had also been out before I went with you, and have been on the water most of my life....In my first response I said you knew how to handle your boat well..and meant it...this could have been handled in a pm..but since you chose to post here im replying here. Not mad at all. Just a response to your post. As far as the phone calls..I have spoken to one..the other was too much of a coward to call with a name or number... but alls good...hopefully it made that person feel a little better.

Could have been handled in a PM? Why? I was responding to your post here, Penny. You didn’t PM me. You posted here, refuting my post, so I replied here. Not sure what’s wrong with what I wrote. Apparently, you found something offensive. Sorry. If you think this should have been handled in a PM, though, then you should have, well, PM’ed me.

As for you sounding offended or aggressive, well, I’m sorry, but you do. Your comment about someone calling you and you editing your post, referencing “ignorance”, etc., made you sound offended, along with some other comments, such as your taking issue with being described as a newbie to bluewater fishing. That seems to bother you. Didn’t mean for that to happen. If you were not offended, then that’s great. Glad to hear it, Pen. It seems that

Sooooo nikonjedi…I beleive this thread is a heck of alot rougher than the seas were Thursday…“which wasn’t that bad”…sorry your fun, 1st offshore trip comments turned into this BS… Thursday was a good time…end of story…It was nice meeting you and hope to do it again…

I hope you enjoy many many more trips to the blue…penn

I do not see how you do not get a little beat up in any boat in a decent head sea if you are making some speed. You are gonna catch air every once in a while. Can’t imagine how much air you would catch at 60 knots. It’s no big deal. I run a decent sized cat and a real big Contender and have taken a whipping on them too. I do not think it is safe for me to go over 45 or so knots out there even in the big boat. A kooky wave can get cha…
