Rose River Shenendoah Nat Park pics

Here are 2 pictures of some brookies I caught on Halloween this year. Very small guys but there are a couple of big fish hidden in the depths. I caught around 15 in about 2 hours. Its really fun to do this mountain stream fishing. The water is so small that you would never think that a fish could survive in it. But you can go up here and catch over 30 trout w/ a 1-3wt rod using almost nothing but dry flys. These brookies are very aggresive too.
On this day I caught all of the brookies with a black ant pattern. The orange dot on the fly is key in order to locate your fly in the water!

Got to love those Brook trout. Thanks for sharing

My parents have some property on the Rose. They stock it with bows in February and there’s lots of smallmouths in the lower portion of the river that are tons of fun in summertime.

There is no normal life, there’s just life.
