Rosewood Crawfish Festival

In Columbia on May 3rd. Anyone going?
I’ll be the old bald guy under the tent, slurping down mudbugs like I haven’t had a meal in a week. I went through four helpings last year & I might go for five this year.

I used to go all the time when it first started. Back then it was a few hundred folks and it was free. It has gotten to be a pretty big festival now. Not really into the corwds so much though there is a lot of nice sights to see. This is the first Saturday in months we have nothing scheduled so we are doing nothing and it sounds great. May even sleep in til 8:00. Have fun Bob don’t eat too much.

I won’t eat too much. Only till I’m stuffed or run out of cash.
Since I haven’t been working, my finances are limited, so I might not get as much as I want to. I might have to drink less beer.

Well, I decided to be a good boy and not over do it today. I got to the gate about 10:35 and they were letting folks in, so I thought great, I’ll have a beer. No such luck, they couldn’t serve till 11:00. Wandered around, looking at all the vendors and seeing what other foods were there. A lot of fair type stuff like elephant ears, hot dogs, corn dogs & fried candy bars(the wife would have liked that). Also saw gumbos, jambalayas & gumbos, fried gator tail, & po boy sandwiches. All pretty pricey but that’s typical for these events. A lady had a good looking sausage po boy w/ fries, but at $12.00, I decided to pass & head to the crawfish tent.
Grabbed a beer at 11:00, bought 2 boxes of bugs and chowed them down. They said the boxes were 2 1/2 lbs. of crawfish, but I think it was closer to 1 1/2. I finished them & went for another walk & another beer. I went back to the tent and got one more box of mudbugs. Finished them off and headed home about 1:00.
Grand total, 3 boxes of crawfish and two beers.

Sounds like a good day. I spent mine watching 12 year old boys play soccer. Not complaining, they grow up fast so I am enjoying it. I bet the “scenery” was nice as pretty as the weather was. Glad you had a good time and showed some restraint.

The scenery was “very” nice.:sunglasses: As always, I had a good time. I ran into some folks I used to work with several yrs. ago and hadn’t seen for some time. It was good to see & talk with them.
