I was making good time Sat. morning and even the old lady was keeping up with me pretty good, we got to the inlet only to find there was some kind of foot race being held on the public streets of M.I. They had ALL roads closed, back roads, main roads, cross roads. They held me up over 30 min. When I was giving the man some number two about the situation he poitned out to me the dude in front of me was wanting to get in the water too. I saw in line in front of me pulled over on the side of the road a 30 foot center console. It was about then he moved aside and said we could go and the feller in front of me hit the gas forgetting he had pulled under a 200 year old oak tree and his tee top, rods and reels took a powerful beating he ripped off his antena and the rods didn’t seem to fair all that well either. he never even hit the brakes he just held the coal to it and kept on trucking. I did’nt even make eye contact with him at the ramp he was so upset. When I got back to the ramp that afternoon I saw his 8’ antena in the trash can. I figured my day wasn’t as bad as his…

That is why they put the observation benches there. They could charge admission during spot season.
