Rough Day

Put in at daylight today hoping for some schooling with the overcast skies. Saw very sporadic action on top and it was few and far between. Fished Hollow Creek, Bear Creek, the Gap, and around the twins and could find no fish to speak of. They simply were so scattered we couldn’t find anything worthwhile. Caught 3 shorts on downloads in 45 feet around the gap. That was it. Water temp was 78 degrees and the wind was tough and swirling. Hope it gets better after the storm.

I was out today too and fished one of my few areas that’s somewhat sheltered from the northeast winds. Even so, I had out the 7 foot drift sock and was also banking into the breeze with the trolling motor… Lots of shorts with some good 25-27 inch fish mixed in on freelines and 30-50 foot downrods. I quit when the last of 3 dozen was gone and took the rough ride back to the dam at 12:15.

Fog we just couldn’t find concentrations of fish, didn’t even want to stop most of the time. Amazing how the weather has them doing odd things.

Been waiting on this weather, hope to be there tomorrow!

Stopping on fish is not what’s going to work this time of the year. Find an area that has scattered pockets of fish and drift or pull it. They’re on the move; so I prefer to move also.

Boatpoor, I hope it’s not too rough for you. It was windy enough today.

Fog check your PMs.

Didn’t make it today, wife’s Esculade lost a headlight. After 3 hrs of work and $460.00 worth of parts got it going again.
