Rough start to the day 6/6

Anyone else get the hell beat out of them yesterday morning? That 1.5 @ 9s didn’t really pan out until about 10am. In any regard, we pushed out past Edisto banks to around 500ft where we saw our first weed line. Was difficult to track because of the conditions and didn’t get any take downs. Pushed back in to about 250ft with much calmer water and saw well put together weed line on a rip and decided to try it. Immediately landed a nice bull, and hooked up again 15 min later. Action stopped after that and had no hits the rest of the day. Sounded like the bite was better in around 1000ft according to radio chatter and a couple guys on the dock.

It was definitely a little snottier than I thought it would be starting out yesterday. Laid down really nice once we got where we were headed though. Ride in was pretty wet around 4 with that cross wind too. Gret day on the water gor sure!

We went deep around The 380 Hole targeting bills, but ended up with just one mahi. The water wasn’t nearly as nice or as warm as 250-400.

Certainly not beat up, but it was a little bumpier than expected headed to EB and still managed 30 knots cruise. We worked that weedline in 500’ and picked up 6-7, with only 2 peanuts. Headed back to the ledge around 1pm and it really laid down but couldn’t get a wahoo bite… Not a bad day!

We had the same thing. A little bumpy on the way out. The ride home was nice.

Wondering if the Mahi have moved? Left City at 5:30. I tried closer in thinking the water temps would bring them to 100 feet. Tried Comanche reef. Nothing. Tidied the ledge. Saw a school of tuna busting but they sounded every time we got to them. No dolphin. Fiinished the day about 6 miles from the 226 hole and picked up a decent gaffer at 2:30. Should I have been in the stream all along? Still s beautiful day in the water!

The last couple of weeks we have done well in 250ft. Seems like they’ve moved deeper.

Same story as everyone else, bumpy ride out, then calmed down nicely. Worked the same almost weed line as the rest of the fleet, in 400 to 500 ft. Caught five smallish dolphin pretty much all in that area. trolled from 250 ft to 1500 ft, nada out deep. Caught the last dolphin in 250 ft as we were idling bringing in the lines. It hit one of the outriggers. Pink and white was the color of the day for us.

Ran out of Edisto 42mph until we hit about 600ft and then current pushed everything up pretty hard, ran another mile or so and it laid back down. Ended the day with 15 dolphin. Found a weedline in 1600ft loaded with peanuts that were eating every bait we had, so we pulled off in search of bigger fish. Saw 3 marlin free jumping throughout the day and swapped out lures trying to catch one with no luck. Nice ocean picked up and ran back to the hill at 45mph.
