What is best to remove rust stains? I have acquired stains on the non-skid deck of the bow of the boat due too a leak on my shed, and wanted some suggestions on best product, before I go out and buy this, that, and the other!! Thanks
Here is what I use and it works great. Paint it on with a foam brush and stains disappear
Works on the water stain on the outside of the boat also.

You can also use Bar Keepers Friend. A lot less expensive and it works on the water stains also. If you use it frequently you will have to re-wax the area because it will take some of the finish off. Also a similar product called Zud. Both can be purchased in the grocery stores.

Cheap toilet bowl cleaner from Walmart Works great and about two bucks

anything with Oxalic acid. Wood bleach or bar keepers friends are things you can ask for. I got wood bleach from the hardware store for around $5.

thanks for the responses
product called Magic at Royall Hardware. $25 bucks a gallon but you will have a lifetime supply. Works on watermarks on hull as well.
Oxalic acid is the active ingredient in almost all of these products. Some of the hardware stores sell it in a power format cheap, just mix in a little water and you can make it into a paste or solution and put on, wait a few minutes and then rinse away.
Iron out or goof off rust stain remover, which are both oxalic acid and found at lowes. I put it in a spray bottle so i dont have to bend over to apply it. Just spray it and let it sit until stain is gone. Some stronger acids like marykate hull and bottom cleaner work well to but they take the wax or polish off much quicker and are much more expensive. That blue stuff works too but you cant spray it. When using acids to remove waterline stains dont get in on the transducer. If you do rinse it off quickly.

I wouldn’t spray anything. Not that it won’t work. But just to keep it from getting where you don’t want it.
I used latex gloves and a bucket. Mix enough to have about an inch of water/oxalic acid. Use an old rag and wipe away. I did the transom in about 5 minutes. The rest of the boat in about 15. Rinse as you go. You don’t need to put pressure on it at all. It takes 20-30 seconds for the color to go away and be all white again. You could write your name in it. It’s that easy. I can’t wait to get my boat dirty enough to do it again. I figure a good few months at 3-4 times a week.

Don’t let any of those sit on your aluminum trailer for very long.

If you enjoy doing it so much, I will gladly let you clean my boat!!
A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.
Wink it a great product. Can get it at Lowes, Home Depot or ACE. Its liquid so spray it on and watch the rust disappear! Rinse when done.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sponge. Worked in my boat. $3 or $4 for a pack of 2. Just lightly wet it and scrub away. Took about 1 minute to remove a coffee can sized stain. Good luck.
