any imformation on a product to remove rust stains from boat. fiberglass
go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a gallon of Muratic acid from the concrete section. You can go to West marine and buy a marine flavor for more money and get less.
Wear protective gear as this is acid. apply with a brush, let sit for a few minutes and then rinse with water

Bar Keepers Friend is abbrassive to gel coat. Do not use this product unless you are prepared to buff and wax. it also will not remove deep rust stains.
Definitely wear a mask when doing this, but I added just a bit of of bleach to muratic acid and “painted” it on some areas of a used Carolina Skiff bought for oystering. Rinsed with water after letting it set for about a minute. Stunk like the dickens, but it removed the rust and didn’t eat a hole in the fiberglass! The hubband about fainted when I told him what I did… It worked just fine, and I’m still alive to tell the story. Good thing the parental units never bought me that chemistry set I wanted…
no mask needed if you use a bristle brush on a stick. If you get it on you rinse immediately. use a plastic paint roll pan to refresh the brush. No need to add bleach
wood bleach also found at lowes or HD
its a powder. mix with water. can even make a paste to put around fittings. its Oxallic acid, works great, and fumes are WAY less noxious than muriatic acid

Hasn’t hurt mine yet, and it has taken care of some pretty deep and nasty stains including rust. This is just my experience though…

Depending on how long the stains have been there - try RustAid from Lowe’s. Spray on - rinse off. Works great on scum lines.
