been catching a lot of rays lately and a good portion of the time they tend to swallow the hook. Is there a concensus as to whether its better to go in after it and/or just cut it with the hopes that it will rust out(? does this actually happen)? Secondly, when throwing a carolina rig from the yak do yall anchor or just allow the bottom rigging to drift with you?
hooks rust out. Not sure how fast to. I think they are more likely to survive if I don’t do gastrointestinal surgery.
anchor or drift depends on the situation. I’ve done both. I’ll drift with finger mullet on the bottom to prospect for flounder. I’ll drop anchor or stake out if I’m on a spot that I want to sit on one place for a while and let bait soak.
There is nothing - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame
depending on the hook it will rust out rather quickly. There isn’t much that can stand up to salt water.
