Left house at 3 am headed to Remleys had the boat backed in by 4. Went to crank the boat and click,click,click, UH OH. Tried jumpin it but it just wasn’t happening. So we made a 4:30 trip to wally world to get a new battery, turns out the one was bad and killed the other one because I left the battery switch on both batteries the night before, OOPS. Finally got the boat in the water and headed about our merry way. Hit the ledge about 7:45 put lines in and made our way out. Had a dolphin come in on the short line a play with the bait a little but left. That was our only hit until about 10:00. Finally saw a little edge coming up in front of us and bam, right long starts screaming and before we could get we could get the lines cleaned up another goes down. Get the second fish up to the boat first which was a gaffer dolphin and was gaffed and released, but with the gaff still in em WHOOPS. Fortunatly this was apparently a floating gaff which bobbed up and down until we could get to it, all the while the first fish is headed to Florida. Then once we get everything together we head toward the first fish and get a nice hoo in the box. Worked that area for a while and caught one and pulled one off near the boat. After that we didn’t get another strike the rest of the day. Pulled lines in and headed in at 2:00. Nice ride home except the last 8 miles or so and saw about 1,000 stingrays on the way back in.
