Took a leisurely start leaving dock at 6:15…seemed a little odd to be riding out in daylight. Trolled SWB for 3 hours or so and picked up a few mahi but not the wahoo we were hoping for. Dropped at the ledge where we found a couple of huge footballs and a nice scamp but the current and wind made for a fast drift and challenging conditions so we ran in to 120’ to get some finally legal BSB. We did stop at a super secret location on the way in where a cobia swam up to the boat and begged me to drop a jig in his mouth which of course I did! He ended up going 35 lbs, broke my favorite jigging rod, and tasted awesome on the grill with garlic, ginger and teriyaki!! Hit some BSB #s in the middle of the ongoing naval excercises and limited out in rapid order along with some pinkies tho the beelines were playing hard to get. All in all a nice day on the pond although the equipment took a beating…fillet knife MIA, jigging rod now two and a second spinning rod bust it’s tip on a bsb. Good thing fathers day is coming up…and looks like the weather will be nice!! Oh, and todays Duh tip…after 7 years of hauling fish one by one out of the fishbox at the end of the day I finally figured out what stringers are for…duh!
Didn’t get a lot of video this trip but some amused me!

great job heard trolling been slow
I hear everyone pining about catching a Wahoo vs. Dolphin. Never having caught one, what is the appeal as opposed to dolphin? Is it a better eating fish or just more fun to catch? I have eaten dolphin and love it. Never had Wahoo.
Way to go guys. Looks like a great day for sure.

Nice catch guys… did better then us!
where you the cat we came up on around 7am?
catch anything off that rip in 125’?

Yeah Jetsetter, that was us. That rip looked awesome but after 15-20 minutes and one short strike which we assumed to be a king we hauled up and moved on. Dfreedom, wait til you get that wahoo…first off their initial run is pure music and then since no matter how much wire you are running they will inevitably hit the fluoro tuna rig so you cannot let them turn on you or they will cut you off. Makes for a nice adreniline rush and fun dance. Not to mention the average wahoo runs 30 lbs compared to 10-15 lb for mahi.

Scoutin I use the I movie software that came on my macbook pro. It is pretty intuitive and I am still figuring out some of the finer aspects. The hardest thing is remembering to turn the dang cameras on but I am pretty happy with the locations and the software lets you zoom in on specific areas…and of course part of the circus is me moving cameras around to follow the action.

Lol! That video is funny. I had a great time out there. Did I forget to turn the camera on for the Cobia?
