S4G report 9-Mar-14 (pics!) Sea was angry but.....

The sea was angry but we were on a 37 Freeman!

“I will go if it is not going to be rough.” - DHart

“Dude, we will be on Billy’s new 37 Freeman weather won’t be an issue”, but I don’t think he was believing me. Checked NOAA and they were saying 2 to 3s with a SW wind. Sounds good right?!

Well… Sailflow says it could be bumpy… The government wouldn’t lie would they?

Woke up to these conditions at the bouy…

So much for 2 to 3s…

5x5s it is…

Met at the dock at 5:30am loaded up and were clearing the jetties by 6:20.

Billy took the wheel and D-Hart rode in the Llebroc.
Little B, Swilley, Grassman, BH, Realtor, and I plopped on bean bags in the cockpit. Figured it would not last long with the sea state… the boat ate up the quarter following sea and in no time, after a spring forward nap, Billy was pulling back the throttles.

Got speedometer app on my Iphone.

Deployed the spread and in no time the 50W was screaming ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

Little B!! This is all you big guy!!!

He stayed on the reel like a champ then yours truely buried the gaff in the the boat’s first and Ben’s first WAHOO!!

4 more knock downs with 2 pulled hooks and 2 cut offs, then we pulled out the jigs to drop on some marks we found.

Lots and lots of AJs then Bully yells, this isn’t an AJ!

Blackfin?

nah… Bonita

But he brought a friend! Wahoo?!
