Well not as exciting as an actual build thread that some have done in the past but I have gotten a few questions about the boat I am buying so I thought that some picture sharing would be nice.
The Sabalo 21 has an OLA of 21’6" with of 7’6" and an 8" draft weight 1800 Lbs which is a little different from some bay boats on the market. The original design of the boat was geared for south Florida tarpon fishing, near shore and bays. That is why it has such low gunnels and such a sharp v on the bow. The lay out on this boat is very simplistic in form and everything will have a place because storage is at a premium. Although if I didn’t have kids I would have built this boat with a 1/2 tower and the would have given me more storage for life jackets and nonessentials but perhaps one day it might get a make over.

Couple more pics
Trailer came in the other day so the boat got move into the shop where they will finish it. They told me that it might be done in early April, they had a bit of a bottle neck getting a boat ready for the Miami boat show. They have 3 boats in front of mine, no big rush on my end work is keeping me tied up anyway.
Phin - I went with a 150 Yamaha which is max hp for the hull and will push the boat mid- upper 40’s. It’s not a fast hull and I knew that going in. A 115 was a very tempting option, a friend of my dads has one with a 115 2-stroke merc on the back and it moved it along with out much effort.

Got a couple more pictures the other day they are planning on having it completed Thursday and taking it out for a shake down. Hopefully the weather pulls it’s self together next week so I can put some hours on her.
Batteries under the console 2 for the trolling motor/ one for starting and live wells/bilge all on perko switch. Along with 3 bank on board charger. Both live wells are insulated so in theory they could double as a cooler. Drain tubes will get installed off the rod holders.
porta-bracket and motor were installed - I only wish that Yamaha made a white 150
Ron was great through the whole process, 1 year and 2 months of me shopping and picking around. I stopped at his shop twice to see what he had working and was impressed with what he had going on. More importantly the staff seam to love what they do and always talked about boats or fishing. By the second visit I felt pretty comfortable putting down a deposit after all it’s hard to have blind faith in people these days. After writing and reading countless email as well as phone calls galore. I took delivery of the boat yesterday, the purchasing experience, build and boat met or beat my expectations.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.
