Sabalo 21

I recived the wife’s permission to up-grade the family recreational vehicle and so the quest for the perfect bay boat began. I quickly realized it was like shopping for a mini van! Top of the list was the 210 keywest bay reef it even came with a potty but then one night I stumbled across Sabalo on boat trader. To me the boat was completely the opposite of every other bay boat. It has an old school look and a very minimalist design, the specs on the boat are impressive with a 8 inch draft but storage is at a premium.
So I did what any normal guy would do and loaded up the family (2 year old and a 2 month old) and drove them 12 hours down to Naples Fl. Where a buddy of my dads ,Todd Geroy, charters a 21 Sabalo. We fished it for 5 hours caught 20+ snook, 1 tarpon, redfish, goliath grouper, big jacks and a few mangrove trees. I have to say I was impressed with how it fished and ran even with a 115 mercury 3 cylinder 2 stroke on the back.
So next up! A trip up to Tampa ( Odessa FL) to meet with Ron Cook owner of bonefish boatworks. He owns a couple of companies including IPB, Sabalo and Bonefish. He spent 2 hours with me walking me through his workshop and boats showing me the how, what, when, where and why in the process of making a boat. In the end I realized I don’t know a (**() thing about fiberglass hulls or the process of building them. So I asked a few of the nice people Cf.com for their impute and got some of the answers/knowledge I was looking for.
I am currently in the end stages of putting together a neat little boat it’s going to have a 150 Yamaha and porta bracket on the back of it. The boat in the pic is not my hull just one in production.
