sabiki rigs for pogies?

anyone ever try out a sabiki rig for pogies/menhaden with any luck? i have no problem finding schools in the yak, but sometimes theyre schooled fairly loose and cant catch them reliably with a snagging hook. definitely cant stand to toss a cast net from my kayak either. anyone ever the sabiki for em?

He has it figured out. I would think with a smaller net (5ft) it would be even easier. Worth a try.

my friend just bought a sit on top kayak and i was able to stand up and toss, but tossing from mine sitting down (sit in kayak that i cant stand in) with cleats front and back left and right and a cooler strapped to the bow presents its challenge. ill at least try though thanks.

After using a cast net for years, I’d just use a small net like a 4’ from sitting position, toss it out and get some bait that way. Tucks away nicely. I’ve never caught menhaden with sabiki, threadfin shad will hit sabiki but where to find them in CHS, unknown.

You’re welcome…
