Sorry for the loss. This happened to my father in the early 90’s at Lake Moultrie. Dad was in a 13 foot fiberglass boat with all the proper lighting and a lantern. He was catfishing in front of short stay when a group of people in a bass boat hit his boat dead center (from the side) My father jumped into the frigid water before being hit. The people that hit his boat said they never saw him because they had about 8 people on board and the view was blocked. Even told him they didn’t figure on anyone being out that late at night. They pulled him aboard and bribed him not to call the law (alcohol) I think they gave him $5000 and helped him pull the boat ashore. Dad was able to fix the boat himself and dry the 25hp Mariner out and it fired on the 2nd or 3rd pull. These type of people exist. That is why I never fish or boat on a weekend. Thank God I work shift work. Be careful out there !
