thanks to my buddy sharky and also wesley b. for the calls last night to check on us and give us the weather updates. nice to have at least one or two friends looking out for us. oh; almost forgot. wife called a couple of hours after we were off the water. guess she just wanted to know where to start the search. probably dissapointed when i answered. good thing she does not read this.LOL LOL LOL
indeed. sharky called us too. good guy that sharky, regardless of what everyone else says about him. LOL
seriously, it was a very thoughtful and considerate thing to do. there’s a lot of people out there that wouldn’t have even given any of us a second thought.
thanks sharky.
yeh phish; you are right. there probably were quite a few that when they came across the dam also said “look at those dumb##$$ out on that lake.” we got to plan another one before too long. good to meet everybody also.
Guys, it sure was nice for those guys to call-it shore got sporty out there! Flatlander, looked for you coming back from Jakes but weather was to bad to wait any longer-hope no casualties other than the tin soldiers! Went out of Jakes on sunday and didn’t see ya so I hope all was okeeedokeeee:smiley:. Weatherman ate us up with that 40% chance.

anytime fellows.i learned one thing.i will havea scanner on my boat from now on.my son has a hand held.i will be confiscating it.
Sharky-I have one AND had it on-all we got was warnings and we had been watching the storm up the water towards chaping/little mountain area. Everything was cool, then flatlanders’ wife who had weather pulled up on her pda came over the vhf and stated that it was time to get outa dodge! About the same time the wind shifted a completely different direction and started gusting upwards of 25-35 knots-withing the time of getting rods up and heading back to the landing it started to sprinkle and lightning picked up. Coolbreeze got out to get the truck and all hell broke loose! My boat slammed a pontoon tied up (sorry whoevers it was) and the rain some completely sideways. When we were going back over the dam, the water was coming up onto the dam. I tell ya, that was as bad a storm as i’ve ever been caught out in on the lake. I mean within 5 mins it went from fishable to holy chit real quick! Thanks again for calling and checking on us

triton check your mail…i willbe out there this fall and winter fellows.it’s hard not head to the coast every chance i get in the summer.the flounder bite is on and the trout too.
i think we definitely need to have a do-over. might have to work on the wife for a trip sooner rather than later. we were going to have guests this weekend that are now not coming, hmm… maybe we can plan it when the wx forecast shows 80% storms. maybe then it won’t rain at all.
Definate do-over is needed-did seem to develop a new proplem yesterday on the boat with the power steering yesterday so a trip to south lake marine is in my future …Could maybe do sat night again…too early in the week yet to tell.

i think the Irmo side got it before Jake’s. we were able to get on the trailer just before the bottom fell out. i tease Elizabeth about being a techno nerd - no more. glad everyone made it home OK and the only casualties were tin soldiers. looking forward to the next one.
take care y’all, Jim
i cannnot go again until whenever ya’ll want to. we had quite a few casualties that died on the triton’s front porch. it was ugly. the carnage was everywhere.
hey sharky; give me a call. need to work a deal for a few flounder. you are bound to need to horse trade something. LOL LOL
coolbreeze let me see what i catch this weekend.
