A spawning season closure for cobia and annual catch limits for mackerel and spiny lobster go to public hearing Tuesday(Apr 12th) in North Charleston.
The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is proposing new limits on the harvest of the species as part of an ongoing overhaul of how offshore species are managed under a stricter federal law. The restrictions would impact commercial and recreational anglers. The hearing is one of seven taking place in the four states managed by the council.
The hearing takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hilton Garden Inn, 5265 International Blvd., in North Charleston. For more information, go to www.safmc.net
