I know this is a little late but last saturday, we went 5 for 6 on sails, one tuna, one king, two mahi, and let back a dozen of what looked to be black fin tuna that were a foot in length. Right at the end of the day bait was eveywhere and two huge schoold of tuna came up out of nowhere. A great day of fishing on the new boat
were you able to ID the tuna that came up? It has been a nonexistent year for Yellowfin. Good job on the stick fish.

We had three charterboats go out yesterday and all of them had shots on sails. Only one landed, but 6 were seen. One boat had 3 in the baits at once with one hooked up, but its hard to keep em hooked up on a live bait rig. They’re definetely out there in numbers.
Sells when I talked to CC60 on sun he said they were yellowfin.
Once again congrats dustin you cant beat that for a first trip. I saw the pics you put on facebook book you wern’t lieing about those tunas being small. I think each one could have equaled 1 spicy tuna roll.

Great job CC60 and nice report. Several weeks ago I posted a thread about YFTs, they were expected to hit south Florida in a couple of weeks.That report was by Florida Fishing report, I cant remember how long for sure maybe 4 or 5 weeks.But with this report that seems like the migration is coming up the east coast, so if it is my question has now been answered.The second part of my question was how late did the Mahi show up this year in numbers. Can anybody tell me that.Sorry didnt mean to steal your thread, just trying to learn something. Have a nice week.
