Salsa

Ok, where can you buy some good salsa? I know making it yourself is an option, but not the option I am looking for. I bought some different ones from the produce section of various grocery stores and some of them are pretty good, but not quite there. I fully anticipate some crafty answers from the usual suspects so bring it on.

Trader Joe’s actually has some good Salsa. Earth Fare as well. Shut up Peapod.

Bonzo likes Herdez salsa…even on sale sometimes…

Jacks fresh Salsa is the best thing in the grocery store.

If you want authentic Mexican, try some local Mexican stores or taqueria’s.

So i just had some Garden Fresh Chipotle, Garlic that was pretty good. I picked up some of Bonzo’s Herdez. I think I’ve had the Jacks, but will give that a try again. Happy Bob, I have thought about checking out on of the local Mexican groceries to see what they have. I actually love the stuff you get at La Carreta and some of those places and have not found anything like it in the stores.

Why is making your own not an option?
I have a killer AUTHENTIC pico de gallo recipe.

Share it up Jstrange! Just starting to get some ripe tomatoes and the peppers won’t be far behind.

Why not make it an option as Jstrange suggested! Fun stuff with a food processor. You can go soupy salsa or bigger chunk Pico de gallo style.

Every Once in awhile I’ll stop at our local Mexican Restaurant and get some chips and salsa to go.

Lately my son has introduced me to Amozon Prime, Follow this link and check out the 47 different pages of Salsas!!

Let’s talk about chips to use with salsa!

I think Late July (I’ve only seen them at Publix) are my favorite, followed by Calidad chips or some good old Tostitos Crispy Rounds.

Here is a great recipe for Guacamole.

3 large ripe Hass avocados
¼ white onion, finely chopped
1 serrano chile, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely grated
2 tablespoons (or more) fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon kosher salt
¼ cup chopped cilantro, plus more for serving
Toasted pepitas (pumpkin seeds; optional)

Moes for a pint of El Guapo
