Gonna drop some bucks on a couple of low profile reels to be used in both salt and freshwater in the <$150 range. Am considering the following:
Shimano Canean 100
Shimano Citica I series
Diawa AIRD Coastal
Diawa Tatula
ABU Garcia ORRA2
ABU Garcia Revo Inshore
Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of these reels (both good and bad)???
Also, are there others I should consider?? Thx for any and all help!

I’m a huge fan of the Caenan. Casts great (release point is perfect). Can buy 4 for the price of one Curado.
When and if the bearings go, replace them and good as new.
I have the Tatula (type R) and its awesome. I use it primarily in salt water, throws light weight plastics with ease. Also, the type R has two corrosion resistant bearings (8 bearings total). $140’s Amazon or eBay…
They all will have problems associated with corrosion after about 30 trips. I’ve tried them all. I have several 200-300 dollar reels for freshwater use only, but I won’t go much over 100 for saltwater use.
Daiwa Coastal is the best reel for the money IMO. It seems to withstand corrosion problems much better than the Shimanos and Revos. I love Shimano but have gone through 8 Curados in the past 5 years. The Coastal has been the workhorse although not as smooth on the retrieve or drag as the Shimanos or Revos. If you are a freak about maintenance, (I’m not) go with whatever, but I will never again drop big money on inshore baitcasters.
Hey guys, appreciate all the input and advice. Decided to go the cheaper route and go with the Shimano Canean 100 based on Optiker’s suggestion. If he is satisfied with the Canean, I’m sure I’ll be…

Cool. RADS 8 Curado’s is equal to 24 Caenans Love ya RAD!
Seriously, when the bearings go (I left mine out in a rainstorm and it was hosed). I almost chucked it, but discovered BOCA Bearings. Spent $40 for replacement ceramic ABEC5 bearings and it is as good as it was new, actually it casts farther and better. I have the special tool to remove the pin and if you need it let me know. Or send it to me and I’ll replace them for you.

FYI Caenons are $90; Curados are $180
OK, just to close this one out, I went out to Cabela’s web site…looked up the Canean and right before my eyes the price dropped from $89 to $45 …so, I bought several and I am really pleased with the way they cast and they are comfortable in the palm of my hand…so in my opinion, Optiker was spot on…thanks to all for the responses. I have no clue why the price dropped!
