Good afternoon, Dave here with a new to me 2015 KW203FS. I live in Summerville and just wondering which saltwater boats ramps are worth the trailering to launch from, not a total newby, but can definitely use more practice and I don’t really follow the tides if you will, more of, when the family is ready let’s go chart. We usually end up trailering to Dawhoo and hang between Botany and Seabrook. Just looking for different scenery. Thanks in advance.
gonna be hard to beat that scenery, but try any of the rivers and creeks you pass on the way to Botany and SB.
There’s russel creek, adams, wadlama, bohickett, ocella (one of my favs), any steamboat just to name a few.
or when you leave the dawhoo bridge ramp go left and circle the whole island. It’s well marked and pretty easy, just pay attention to your gps.
Just hug the bank to your left (important) as you re-enter the North Edisto River from the front beach. When you enter, that’s bottney on your left, the 1st creek to your left is Ocella. Good clams in there

Check out steamboat, live oak, and willtown landings in that general area. Cherry point is fun too.
Willtown is quite tidal but usually completely fresh, but when you get down to the intersection of dawhoo and edisto it gets salty. Good catfishing and great scenery around there but beware the short pad on the ramp at low tide

Thank you for the reply. We have launched from Cherry Point, but that was a decade or so ago. I will definitely checkout the others.
Thank you for the reply. We do enjoy that area and it’s not too far to trailer. Taking a left from Dawhoo is definitely on our list of places to go. Maybe next time.

Between dawhoo and cherry point is pretty wide open marsh… not a place you want to get caught by a thunderstorm, so watch your west/southwest and use steamboat in the middle if you gotta tie off and hide in the trees a minute!

Just FYI, Live Oak landing on Edisto is one of the most difficult ramps to launch/load from at a mid-tide. Its one of the hardest in the lowcountry. Just be aware!
