Going to do some inshore fishing tomorrow. Do not currently have a saltwater license. If I buy the 2013-14 license now, do you think DNR will accept that for fishing on June 17, 2013?

You could just get the 2-week license for $5.

new one yr license came out 15th or 16th & will last until end of June 2014 & is good from the day you buy it. The license will have a vid date on it which will be from the 17th (if you buy that day) to June 30th 2014.
DNR emailed this:
Beginning June 17, 2013, advance license sales will begin at all DNR regional offices and point of sale agents.
All licenses purchased through advance license sales will be valid July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
I just stopped this morning to get mine new ones & they are indeed valid from today until 6-30-14 (printed right on them). Strange how DNR does not even know their own rules…
A licenses purchased in June used to be good through June 30 of the next year, but like everything else our government is involved in, they probably changed it so they could generate more revenue to spend… safe bet, buy one every year…
