Thinking of going to this is it worth the time? Has any one been just want some in size inf. before I fork out the cash.
I went in Charleston a few years back, you probably will not learn much, but it is still a good time and a good way to kill a day if the weather isn’t good!
When/where is it?

Went to the one in Charleston several years ago when I was just getting started with salt water inshore fishing around Gtown. If you’re an old hand at inshore or offshore, you probably won’t learn much but it is always interesting to see how the pros do it…I found it to not only be educational but very entertaining. Some of the presenters just cracked me up…oh, and by the way, as part of the fee, you get a years subscription or extension for Salt Water Sportsman Mag and some other freebees. Plus there are normally vendors with various displays. All in all, I’d say it’s worth the $55. I’ll be going again.

I went last year when it was at the Charleston Southern campus. Even as a relative newbie I wouldn’t say I learned a whole lot beyond what I’ve already been reading up on, but there were a few nuggets of wisdom I pulled out of it. It was definitely worth the money in my mind though, it renewed my subscription and the value of the free bucket of stuff and the chance to win some other gear was probably worth the leftover $ if not more.

I will be there along with a few others from PENN. We will have a full assortment of product on display and potentially have some new gear to show off. There will also be a chance to win some PENN gear from saltwater sportsman/George Poveromo.

I had a blast the year I was asked to speak at the one here in Charleston. There is some good info being tossed around and like another poster said, some of the presenters are characters for sure. Well worth the money IMO.

Hey Nasty dawg, if you need someone to lug in all your stuff lemme know.
Seroiusly though, I may try to go, what could I lose besides $55. If anyone else goes, gimme a holler.

I’m going, this will be my 3rd one. It said in their mag that sells is going to be one of the speakers?

I’ve attended the last two held at Charleston Southern. I have found that you aren’t going to learn some revolutionary fishing tactic that will make you the best saltwater fisherman on the SC coast but what you will learn is a broad concept base that you can take and build on as you gain experience in the field. George does a great job at making sure the audience questions are answered thoroughly.
A couple of years ago Don Hammond gave some great information on pelagics (mainly dolphin) concerning diets/environments/migration patterns etc.
It is also important to read between the lines. Information that may seem inconsequential to you, may make all of the difference on the water. Over the years of talking and annoying the hell out of people with questions, I have found that the truly great guys aren’t really doing things much differently than the rest of us, they just pay attention to minor details that the rest of us may overlook.
Definitely worth your time and money. With Sells there it will probably be worth double.

I’m going to need some of those GPS coordinates, too.
(BTW, for some of our harder headed members, that was a joke)

I’m guessing those are the coordinates to a seafood shop in Summerville…
