It’s a late day so I’ve got some time to relax. I figured they had. My neighbor decide to free line live herring on an ultralite… Yet he uses a surf caster for bream.

I used to walk up from Metts landing with live and frozen herring. I would throw cut bait out on the bottom and would fish my live herring on a cork or freeline. I would fish the cut bait out pretty far. Where I fished a hole came to the edge of the weed line, striper would work that edge for bait, it was loaded with crawfish. I would work that edge slow reeling the freeline or letting the herring pull around the cork. Used to catch quite a few nice fish. My two biggest came on a long a bomber.
